Open Office hours is an open discussion and training session available to anyone who works on CUIMC websites. During this session you’ll be able to ask questions, go over real examples and get one-on-one training and support from CUIMC Web Services.

The Herbert and Florence Irving Institute for Cancer Dynamics will continue its seminar series on the topic of mathematical sciences underpinning cancer research. The monthly seminars take place on the second Wednesday of the month, 2:00-3:00 PM EST. The presentations are open to the Columbia community (in person and online) and to researchers outside Columbia (via Zoom). On Wednesday, May 13th (2:00 PM ET), IICD welcomes Dr. Mona Singh from Princeton University. Seminar hosted by Dr. Simon Tavaré. She is also affiliated with the Department of Molecular Biology and the Omenn-Darling Bioengineering Institute.  Her group works broadly in computational molecular biology, as well as its interface with machine learning and algorithms. She has been on the faculty at Princeton University since 1999. She received her A.B. and S.M. degrees from Harvard University and her Ph.D. from MIT, all in computer science. Among her awards are the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE) and the Rheinstein Junior Faculty Award from Princeton’s School of Engineering and Applied Science. She was named a Fellow of the ACM in 2019, and of the ISCB in 2018.
