Overview
In collaboration with the VP&S Office of Medical Education, the CUIMC Office of Faculty Professional Development and Engagement, and the Columbia Center for Teaching and Learning CUIMC office, the CUIMC Educator Development Certificate of Participation (CEDC) program is an evidence-based, faculty-driven, professional development series for educators (clinician-educators) at VP&S. Participants are encouraged to complete the required workshops as a cohort, though individual sessions can be taken ad-hoc.
CUIMC Educator Development Certificate Benefits
-
Strengthen your teaching and educational leadership skills. The program provides evidence-based professional development focused on teaching, assessment, feedback, inclusive learning environments, and educational leadership, helping participants become more effective and confident educators.
-
Expand your professional network and learn from peers. Participants are encouraged to complete the program as a cohort, creating opportunities to collaborate with and learn from fellow clinician-educators across the institution.
-
Gain practical tools to enhance learner engagement and success. Through required and elective workshops on topics such as active learning, mentoring, teaching in the clinic, program evaluation, and educational technology, participants develop actionable strategies that can be immediately applied to their educational roles.
