Facilities and Equipment

50 Haven Athletic Center offers fitness spaces, recreational courts, a swimming pool, locker rooms, and training equipment for CUIMC students, faculty, staff, and eligible members. Whether you want to swim, lift weights, use cardio equipment, take time for floor exercises, or enjoy a friendly game of basketball or squash, the athletic center provides a range of spaces to support your workout.

What We Offer

Aerobics Room

  • Members in the aerobics doing exercises and using equipment

    • Keiser spin cycles for spin classes only
  • Availability
    • The aerobics room may close during the week for fitness classes.
    • Quiet Time: During quiet time, the aerobics room is available for yoga, pilates, meditation, floor exercises, and other quiet activities. Please use earbuds for music and do not use laptops or personal speakers to play music.
  • Guidelines
    • Non marking sneakers should be used throughout the fitness center on all wooden floors, including the aerobics room.

Basketball Court

  • Overview
    • Our small indoor basketball court provides space for recreational play, informal games, and scheduled athletic activities. 
  • Availability
    • The basketball court is open during most regular hours.
    • It may be unavailable for free play during scheduled activities, including basketball tournaments and badminton.
    • Check the open hours and schedule for current availability.
  • Equipment
    • Basketballs are available for members to use during open court times.
  • Guidelines
    • Non marking sneakers should be used throughout the fitness center on all wooden floors, including the basketball court.

Cardio Room

  • Members in the cardio room using treadmills and other equipment

  • Overview
    • The cardio room offers Precor treadmills, ellipticals, and advanced motion trainers, as well as Expresso interactive cycles and Keiser spin cycles.

    • Cardio equipment is available on a first come, first served basis.
  • Guidelines
    • Please be considerate of other guests. If others are waiting to use a machine, limit your use to 45 minutes.

Free Weight Room

  • Members in the free weight room, working out and using various equipment

  • Overview
    • The free weight room is located at the far end of Basement Level 3 and offers a broad selection of free weights and equipment to target different muscle groups.

Locker Rooms, Restrooms, and Sauna

  • Location: 
    • Basement Level 3
  • Overview 
    • Locker rooms can be entered through Basement Level 3 and serve as a passage to both the main pool area and the balcony overlooking the pool.
    • Free daily lockers are available for use with your personal lock. Rental lockers are also available. Daily locks are not provided.

Pool

    • The 15 yard, five lane swimming pool is reached through the locker rooms.
  • Accessibility
    • The pool includes an accessible electric lift.

  • Guidelines
    • To use the pool, you must wear a bathing suit. A swim cap and goggles are highly recommended. If someone else is waiting to use the pool, please limit your swim time to 30 minutes.
  • Safety
    • The pool is staffed by a certified lifeguard.

Squash Court

  • Location
    • Basement Level 3
  • Overview
    • The squash court offers a dedicated space for individual practice or reserved play. Members may use available rackets or bring their own equipment.
  • Availability
    • The squash court is open during normal operating hours.
  • Equipment
    • Rackets are available if needed
    • Squash balls and goggles are not provided
    • Squash balls can be purchased from the Office of Housing Services
  • Reservations
    • The squash court can be reserved for time slots after 4:30 p.m. every day except Saturday.
    • Reservations must be made at least one day in advance, either in person or by calling 212-304-7010.
    • Please provide your member name and BAC number when making a reservation.
  • Guidelines

Strength Training Room
