Faculty Mentorship
The Office of Faculty Professional Development, Diversity and Inclusion provides resources and support to departments/academic units and faculty for facilitating successful mentoring relationships for CUIMC faculty. These mentoring resources include practical guides, resources and toolkits that help facilitate and drive successful mentoring relationships. We also have a group of senior faculty who can provide guidance to faculty in one-on-one meetings. Below are some of the resources:
Mentoring Resources
In 2016, with help from faculty across the University, the Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Diversity and Inclusion published the Guide to Best Practices in Faculty Mentoring, which provides guidance and suggestions to faculty and academic units for developing and implementing mentoring programs.
Faculty careers in academic medicine are dynamic and mentoring needs may change over time. To optimize mentorship opportunities, faculty may need to rely on a network of mentors, rather than a single mentor, to advance their goals. This worksheet provides strategies for developing a mentoring network and should be reviewed and updated regularly to ensure that the network is refreshed as needs change.
