***MEDIA ALERT*** The Partnership for Women’s Health at Columbia University and the Department of Dermatology at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons present MEDICAL AND SCIENTIFIC ASPECTS OF FEMALE HAIR LOSS WHAT: Hair loss, or alopecia, affects millions of people: men, women of all ages and all ethnic groups. The cause of alopecia is complex and includes hormones, genetics, medications, stress, severe illness, malnourishment, infections, and autoimmune diseases. It is estimated that nearly 30 million women in the United States have some form of hair loss. Yet, until recently, the subject of female hair loss has been rarely addressed. Please join the Partnership for Women’s Health at Columbia University and the Department of Dermatology for a symposium addressing medical and scientific aspects of female hair loss.
