World Aids Day: President Clinton Speaks At Icap Symposium

President Bill Clinton spoke at a World AIDS Day symposium Dec. 1, 2009, sponsored by the International Center for AIDS Care and Treatment Programs (ICAP) of the Mailman School of Public Health.

The panel with President Clinton, “Awareness, Access, Action – The Global and Domestic State of AIDS,” was part of a day-long symposium titled “HIV Scale-up and Global Health Systems.” The symposium explored this issue with a distinguished group of experts from government, non-governmental organizations, academia, the World Bank, and Rockefeller Foundation, among others. Introducing the program was ICAP Director Wafaa El-Sadr, MD, MPH.

President Bill Clinton appeared with Dr. Wafaa El-Sadr at the ICAP symposium Tuesday, Dec. 1. Along with President Clinton, Dr. Wafaa El-Sadr, C. Virginia Fields, Stephen Lewis and Kali Lindsey took part in the panel discussion from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Alfred Lerner Hall, Roone Arldege Auditorum, Columbia University. It was co-hosted by ICAP and the Clinton Foundation.
