 Speak at the Eleventh WAR Luncheon

WHAT:

Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center’s Women at Risk (WAR) will present

its Eleventh Annual

Luncheon in the Grand Ballroom of The Waldorf-Astoria.  Scott Hamilton,

noted figure skater and

cancer survivor; four-time U.S. National and four-time World Champion,

Olympic Gold Medalist,

and founder of the Scott Hamilton C.A.R.E.S.  Initiative (Cancer Alliance

for Research, Education

and Survivorship) at the Cleveland Clinic, and Ann Curry of the NBC Today

Show will be guest speakers.

The luncheon is a fundraiser for WAR, a Columbia Presbyterian support program

for women who are at

high risk for the development of breast cancer and women with breast cancer.

WAR’s mission is to enhance

the lives of these women through it’s many activities. The organization

was founded in 1991 by a grassroots

partnership of physicians and patient/volunteers. WAR allocates the largest

portion of its funding to

research projects benefiting high-risk women and women who have been diagnosed

with breast

cancer. WAR is also affiliated with South Nassau Communities Hospital.
