VP&S Strategic Planning Update

Dear Colleagues:

We are writing to update you on the VP&S strategic planning process. After a hiatus over the summer, the second phase was launched over the past two weeks with the creation of 16 working groups.

Building upon the formative work identifying our most important opportunities in Phase One, these working groups will be asked to identify strategies and tactics that we should undertake within each area of opportunity. Working groups will meet over the next six weeks with the goal of sharing their recommendations to the strategic planning steering committee in early November. The goal is to deliver the final report to the VP&S community before the end of the year.

We have been delighted to see the level of interest in participating in this phase and want to make sure that everyone can submit feedback and ideas to the working groups, even if they are not sitting on that particular group. You can submit your recommendations through the form available here: VP&S Strategic Planning Workgroup Recommendations. Suggestions will be integrated into the working group discussions. Your insight is incredibly valuable and we truly appreciate any feedback you are willing to offer.

If you have any questions concerning strategic planning, please contact Jonathan Touson at jt3119@cumc.columbia.edu. We look forward to sharing more updates as the draft recommendations take shape. In the meantime, thank you for your engagement in this process. This is an exciting moment to consider where we are headed and what we can accomplish together.

All our best,
