Register Now For The Coogan's Run Medical Center Challenge, Sunday March 4

Runners from Columbia University Medical Center will defend their title against NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in the third annual Medical Center 5K Challenge, sponsored by the Columbia University Medical Center, the Seasons of Wellness initiative, the Columbia University Athletics Department and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.

The Coogan’s 9th Annual Salsa, Blues & Shamrocks 5K Run is a celebration of the strong community ties and rich cultural diversity of northern Manhattan. More than 4,000 runners of all ages, including world class competitors, participate in the race, which. The annual race starts and finishes in front of the Armory on Fort Washington Avenue, taking to the neighborhood streets in Washington Heights, including a loop through historic Fort Tryon Park. More than twenty different musical groups including gospel, bagpipes, merengue, klesmer, salsa, and brass bands serenade the runners along the route.

On line registration is closed but you can still register in person New York Road Runners (9 East 89th Street) on Thursday, March 1, from 1:00-7:00 p.m, Friday, March 2, from 1:00-7:00 p.m, or Saturday, March 3, 11:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. You may also register the day of the race at the New Balance Track and Field Center at the Armory, 216 Fort Washington Avenue (West 168th Street, across from the Hammer Building) from 7:30-8:30 a.m.
