New VP&S Faculty

The VP&S Office of Faculty Affairs has provided this list of full-time faculty who joined the medical school in March and April 2026:
- Alina A. Barmanwalla, MD, Medicine: Barmanwalla is board-certified in internal medicine and see patients at ColumbiaDoctors at Lincoln Center.
- Kelly G. Gwathmey, MD, Neurology: Gwathmey is a board-certified neuromuscular neurologist and director of clinical trials at the Eleanor and Lou Gehrig ALS Center. Her clinical focus includes ALS and myasthenia gravis, and her research focuses on development and validation of quality-of-life instruments, delay to diagnosis in ALS, and environmental risk factors in ALS. - Mahesh Jonnalagadda, DVM, PhD, Psychiatry: Jonnalagadda is a veterinarian with expertise in comparative medicine and a research portfolio centered on CAR T‑cell technologies, cancer immunotherapy, and humanized and xenograft mouse models.
- Kimberly Lopez, PhD: Kimberly is a licensed clinical psychologist at Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital. Her clinical interests include providing evidence-based care and culturally sensitive treatment approaches to youth who experience anxiety, trauma, and stress.
- Miranda Tan, DO, Medicine: Tan is a pulmonary sleep specialist and the founding director of the Claire Tow Home Assisted Ventilation Program. She is interested in developing AI-driven digital phenotyping and remote monitoring tools to predict respiratory decompensation in patients with hypoventilation and sleep-disordered breathing.
