The VP&S Office of Faculty Affairs has provided this list of full-time faculty who joined the medical school in August 2023. 

  • Amit Batta, DO, Psychiatry
  • Jehanne Belange, MD, Emergency Medicine
  • Tom D. Ben Dov, MD, Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery: Ben Dov has joined the Division of Pediatric Otolaryngology. His research interests focus on the genomics of deafness, and he’s exploring CRISPR-Cas9 models for genome editing in monogenic deafness. He is also involved in craniofacial research, specializing in 3D volumetric measurement of craniofacial anomalies and leveraging 3D printing techniques for pediatric airway congenital malformations.
  • Diana Braver, DO, Emergency Medicine
  • Julia L. Cooperman, MD, Medicine: Cooperman is an internist with a background in hospital medicine. She specializes in hospice and palliative medicine, attending on the inpatient service. 
  • Chanelle M. Diaz, MD, Medicine: Diaz is the IM Medical Director at Charles B. Rangel Community Health Center and Adult CHW Medical Director for the NewYork-Presbyterian Center for Community Health Navigation. She is a general internist with interests in advancing health equity through community and population health and community-engaged approaches to address immigrant health inequities resulting from immigration enforcement policies.
  • Tamana Ghani, MD, Emergency Medicine
  • Jonathan A. Giordano, DO, Emergency Medicine: Giordano’s focus is medical education, particularly innovative curricular design, app development for just-in-time-teaching, adult learning, and assessment. His clinical interests are in emergency electrocardiography and airway management.
  • Jordan G. Hacker, DO, Emergency Medicine
  • Robert Hagerty, MD, Pediatrics: Hagerty’s clinical interests include improving care of children with complex medical needs and using plant-based nutrition to combat metabolic disease. He also is interested in removing barriers to care for underserved populations.
  • Jason Hawksworth, MD, Surgery
  • Sloane E. Heller, MD, Neurology: Heller is a a neurohospitalist dual trained in internal medicine and neurology. Her research interests include cognitive impairment in systemic disease, namely pulmonary disease, liver disease, and organ transplant recipients.
  • Tomer Hertz, PhD, Microbiology & Immunology
  • Ashraf Hussain, MD, Emergency Medicine: Hussain is interested in resident education, alongside a focus on clinical operations, aiming to enhance both the efficiency and quality of patient care.
  • Sunil G. Iyer, MD, Medicine: Iyer is a member of the leukemia service. His research interests relate to the treatment and genomics of acute lymphoblastic leukemia and acute myeloid leukemia.
  • Alicia Jones, OD, Ophthalmology: Jones primarily works in the glaucoma division in addition to providing comprehensive care.
  • Randy S. Lai, MD, Psychiatry
  • Mark C. Liszewski, MD, Radiology: Liszewski is vice chair of radiology at NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital and chief of the Division of Pediatric Radiology. His research focuses on innovations in pediatric imaging with particular interest in pediatric thoracic, gastrointestinal, and vascular disease.
  • Catherine Lynn Ly, MD, Surgery: Ly is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon with fellowship training in complex microsurgery. She is able to provide the full range of reconstructive options for cancer and trauma patients with the goal of restoring form and function.
  • Nicholas D. Martin, MD, Medicine: Martin's academic interests include LGBTQ+ health, gender-affirming hormone therapy, and substance use disorder with a focus on suboxone for opioid use disorder. 
  • Nicholas L. Moore, MD, Pediatrics
  • Lauren Hope Nolte, MD, Pediatrics: Nolte completed a fellowship in developmental behavioral pediatrics at Boston Children’s Hospital. She also has a master's degree in clinical psychology. 
  • Audrey Pendleton, MD, Surgery: Pendleton's research interests are surgical education and clinical outcomes. Cinical interests are general thoracic surgery, ECMO, and transplant surgery. 
  • Yiran Peng, MD, Medicine
  • Alexander D. Ramos, MD, PhD, Neurological Surgery
  • Maria Salgado, MD, Medicine: Salgado has joined the Division of Rheumatology after completing a rheumatology fellowship. Her focus includes the management of several connective tissue diseases, including spondylarthritis and sarcoidosis. She is certified in musculoskeletal ultrasound and will incorporate ultrasound skills into her rheumatology practice.
  • Sviatlana Samovich, PhD, Pediatrics: Samovich’s interests include redox lipidomics and the discovery of lipid-based biomarkers that will pave the way for new redox therapies to protect critically ill patients.
  • Andrew F. Singles, DO, Medicine: Singles, an outpatient endocrinologist in the Hudson Valley, has a clinical interest in the treatment of diabetes and disorders of the thyroid.
