Meet New York State’s Newest Doctors

From June 23 to 27, the Associated Medical Schools of New York (AMSNY) is profiling a few of the state’s newest medical school graduates daily. The newest doctors are the latest graduates among New York’s 16 affiliated medical schools and are beginning their residencies in New York State.

The series includes two of Columbia’s 2014 MD graduates—Cecilia Fix and Kyra Bernstein. The profiles are hosted on AMSNY’s website in its “Under the Lens” section and on the association’s Facebook page (AMSNewYork) and Twitter account (@amsnewyork) under the hashtag NYSNewestDocs.

AMSNY was incorporated in 1967 as a consortium of the 16 public and private medical schools in the state. The association coordinates a statewide effort to increase equitable representation in the health professions by connecting people, knowledge, and resources of the state’s medical schools and facilitating educational opportunities for medical students, residents, and faculty. AMSNY also has programs that support the educational development of high school and college students from underserved and underrepresented communities so they can succeed in medical school.
