Leadership Update
Dear Colleagues,
As we prepare to launch our fall semester, I’m pleased to share that Dr. Katrina Armstrong is returning from her sabbatical to resume her roles as dean of the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, chief executive officer of Columbia University Irving Medical Center, and executive vice president for health and biomedical sciences for Columbia University, effective September 2. Her return comes at a pivotal time for our institution, as we navigate a changed landscape to advance our critical research, patient care, medical education, and community engagement missions.
I am excited to continue in my roles as senior vice dean for clinical affairs and CEO of ColumbiaDoctors and will be working closely with Dr. Armstrong on the best next steps for the medical center across all of our missions. It has been an honor to work alongside our brilliant and dedicated scientists, clinicians, and instructors to serve our medical center in an expanded capacity over this past year. I want to express my deep appreciation to the entire CUIMC community for the support you have shown me and our leadership team, and for your resilience, unwavering commitment, and extraordinary work during this challenging time.
Please join me in welcoming back Dr. Armstrong.
