Leadership Transition: Chief Information Officer

Dear Colleagues,

I am writing to let you know that Chad Neal, Chief Information Officer for CUIMC, will be leaving the medical center effective June 30 to pursue an external opportunity.

Chad joined CUIMC in March 2020 and has held the Chief Information Officer position since first taking over in an interim capacity in August 2020. He stepped into the CIO role at a time of tremendous instability and formidable challenges amid the COVID-19 pandemic. In the CIO role, Chad led his team in stabilizing and maturing information technology services throughout the medical center, with notable success in skillfully navigating the transition to Epic. Because the IT group’s services are indispensable to our daily activities and so critically important to our mission, the support CUIMC IT provides is constantly in demand. We deeply appreciate all they have done and continue to do to ensure our systems run smoothly, and we look forward to leveraging the team’s expertise as the IT enterprise evolves.

We are working with Chad on a transition plan to ensure continuity of services. More information will follow regarding an interim leadership appointment. In the meantime, please join me in thanking Chad for his service to Columbia and wishing him well in his next endeavor.

All my best,

William McKoy
Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, CUIMC
