A Conversation with Ms. Brogan

Tell us what you do at the P&S and how long you have been working here.

I have been working at P&S since 2011 but started at NYP (which was called Presbyterian at that time) in 1985 as a newly registered nurse. I am currently the associate director of clinical operations at HICCC CPDM. My role is to oversee and coordinate all clinical aspects of conducting clinical trials in the CPDM. Being at Columbia for this length of time I have seen the fantastic changes that have occurred at both the university and hospital.

How did you come to P&S?

I was recruited to come work as a research nurse for the CPDM. My role in the CPDM has grown and changed since originally starting here.

What do you like most about your role?

What I like most about my role is that we are giving patients options for the cancer care that would not be available without a clinical trial. We are making a difference in cancer care. I truly love working with all members of the team at P&S. I have always been proud to say that I work at Columbia.

Tell us about your life outside work.

I am married to my husband, Bernie, for 25 years and have two children, Daniel who is 21 and Kelly who is 17. My life outside of work mostly revolves around running to different sporting events as both my children are very active in basketball and volleyball.
