Epic Communications: What You Need to Know, When You Need to Know It

A close-up of a woman's hands around a large card containing the sentence "Are you epic curious?" is shown.

We hope you have noticed the recent communications regarding our Epic implementation. Each Monday, you will see an email from Epic Leadership in your inbox and on Wednesdays, we will have updates in CUIMC Today, our weekly newsletter capturing stories about the people and programs of CUIMC. At the end of each month, the faculty practice will continue to cover important updates in Connect and From the President’s Desk.

Communications Based on Your Feedback

Our communication strategy includes many tactics that address concerns identified in the Organizational Readiness Survey. We appreciate the critical feedback that many of you provided. Your responses indicated:

  • the need for more interaction on Epic.
  • the need for more and for timely communications.
  • your interest in more information on how the implementation will impact you.

These weekly and monthly communication updates will bring you the details of what you need to know about Epic, including when you need to train, when your team will practice, and who are the go-to people for help in your departments.

Marking our Epic Milestones

Finally, we will be introducing a recognition program aimed at spotlighting individuals and departments as we mark key milestones in our Epic implementation. Much more to come on that in the weeks to come.

As always, if you have questions, concerns, or feedback, please email the CUIMC Epic communications team at epic-questions@cumc.columbia.edu.
