Join the Employee Digital Step Challenge
Feeling competitive? Trying to be more active? Make the distance you cover count and join the CUIMC Steps: Digital Step Challenge. From Nov. 1 to 19, employees are invited to compete in teams representing their school or CUIMC central administration. Columbia Psychiatry Launches Mobile Depression App
A new app developed by Columbia researchers in collaboration with avoMD, strengthens the ability of health care providers, including primary care physicians who are frequently on the front lines of managing patients’ depression, to provide critical mental health services in an outpatient setting. VAGELOS COLLEGE OF PHYSICIANS AND SURGEONS
David Fidock, PhD, Microbiology & Immunology, will receive $397,163 over one year from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for “Rapid Evaluation of Resistance Mutation Susceptibility for Antimalarials.”
David Ho, MD, Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center, will receive $298,807 over one year from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for “COVID-19 mAb Discovery.”
Laura Beth McIntire, PhD, Pathology & Cell Biology, will receive $405,000 over one year from the National Institute on Aging for “Acyl Chain Remodeling and Regional Lipid Dysregulation in Alzheimer’s Disease.”
Noelia Zork, MD, Obstetrics & Gynecology, will receive $1,882,326 over three years from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases for a subaward of “Glycemic Profile of Pregnancy Consortium Biostatistics Research Center.”
MAILMAN SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH
Angela Aidala, PhD, Sociomedical Sciences, will receive $1,382,922 over two years from the Health Resources and Services Administration for a subaward of “Ryan White Part A Contract 93-Evl-4645 for Planning and Evaluation (Base).”
