CUIMC Deans Celebrate Women’s History Month with Reflections on Leadership
Women’s History Month offers everyone an opportunity to reflect on women’s experiences in history, in the present, and how they might unfold in the future. It is an opportunity to celebrate the contributions of women and also to pause and acknowledge the essential work that still needs to be done.
To celebrate Women’s History Month, we spoke with three deans at Columbia University Irving Medical Center: Katrina Armstrong, MD, dean of the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons; Lorraine Frazier, PhD, RN, dean of the School of Nursing; and Linda Fried, MD, MPH, dean of the Mailman School of Public Health.
In these videos, the three deans describe what led them to embrace leadership roles in their fields and at Columbia, who their role models were along their life paths, and what Women’s History Month means to them.
