Columbia Medical Students Host Charity Fashion Show

“Sexy in Scrubs II” Raises Money for Operation Smile

WHAT: Students from Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons will host the second annual “Sexy in Scrubs” charity fashion show, featuring original couture made entirely from scrubs, white coats, and medical supplies.

WHY: Fashions featured in the show will be sold following the event, with proceeds benefiting Operation Smile, an organization that provides free reconstructive surgery to children overseas. In lieu of admission, attendees are asked to make a donation to Operation Smile.

WHO: Jeff Nicholls, a fourth-year medical student, designed each of the 12 outfits for this year’s event. First-, second-, and third-year students will model the outfits.

WHEN: Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, 9 p.m.

WHERE: Bard Hall, Main Lounge 50 Haven Avenue, between 168th and 169th Streets
