Columbia Health Sciences Event: Derek Jeter At May 25 Columbia Presbyterian Community Health Day In Washington Heights

Columbia University, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital celebrate compassionate care with special guest Derek Jeter at Take Time for Health Day

This weekend, Columbia University Health Sciences and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital will celebrate health and compassionate care as part of the third annual Taking Time for Health Day at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. The event will feature free health screenings, seminars, and fun attractions for kids of all ages. Major League shortstop Derek Jeter will be on hand to receive an award for his community outreach efforts with Children's Hospital of NewYork-Presbyterian.

Medical staff will provide screenings for a number of conditions, including diabetes, stroke, asthma, cholesterol, high blood pressure, HIV/AIDS, breast, prostate and lung cancers, hepatitis, arthritis, glaucoma, and Alzheimer’s. Free immunizations and vision, dental, and fat assessments will also be available. Kids will be treated to a wide variety of family-friendly activities and diversions, including magic, clown, and puppet shows.

The event will take place Sunday, May 25 from 11 a.m.-6:30 p.m. on St. Nicholas Ave. between 165th and 171st Streets.
