Center For Women's Health Hosts Annual Luncheon-Symposium; Best-Selling Author Barbara Taylor Bradford To Be Honored

Best-selling author Barbara Taylor Bradford to be honored; Columbia University professor to lead discussion on “Smart Women – Healthy Choices”

WHAT: The Center for Women’s Health, a program of the Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons (P&S), will host its annual luncheon-symposium on “Smart Women: Healthy Choices.” The center will honor best-selling author Barbara Taylor Bradford. Dr. Ira Goldberg, professor of medicine at P&S, will lead a discussion on women’s health and nutrition.

WHO: Barbara Taylor Bradford, author of 19 best-selling novels, will be honored by the center for her accomplishments on behalf of women and for her work, which has inspired women to overcome obstacles and achieve personal and professional success. Ms. Bradford has been widely recognized for her writing, community service, and commitment to such organizations as the Police Athletic League, Girls Inc., and the Madison Council of the Library of Congress.

Dr. Ira Goldberg, professor of medicine at the Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons, will lead a discussion that addresses why what we eat affects the heart, the benefits and drawbacks of consuming fat, alcohol, fish, and poultry, and how balanced nutrition can prevent heart disease.
