70 Faculty Receive Seed Funding for Projects that Address Structural Racism

Seventy CUIMC faculty members have received seed funding from the Office of the Provost for projects that engage with issues of structural racism. CUIMC faculty are leaders in 31 of the 57 projects that received funding.

The funding is part of Columbia University’s “Addressing Racism: A Call for Action for Higher Education” initiative. Institutions of higher education have historically been a part of the cause, and have the potential to be part of the cure, with respect to structural racism. The goal of this initiative is to provide resources to enable collaborative dialogue, action, and insight for systemic change toward racial equity.
