Notice & Settlement Fund

NOTICE

Columbia University circulated a letter to former Hadden patients to notify them of the existence of the settlement fund. Please be advised that three law firms in New York have filed putative class action lawsuits on behalf of former patients, such as yourself, which allege violations of law, including under the Adult Survivors Act and/or New York City’s Gender Motivated Violence Protection Law. If you are a former patient of Hadden and experienced some form of abuse by Hadden, we encourage you to consult with an attorney of your choosing to ensure that you understand your rights before proceeding.

Direct notice has been provided to nearly 6,500 former Hadden patients to inform them of Hadden’s conviction and of resources being made available by Columbia, including a Survivors' Settlement Fund of $100 million.

Settlement Fund

As part of a multi-pronged plan to address the abuse, harm, and trauma inflicted by former obstetrician and gynecologist Robert Hadden and to support survivors, Columbia established a $100 million Survivors’ Settlement Fund. The settlement fund is now open and accepting applications. More information regarding eligibility and how to apply to the fund is available on the website established by the claims administrator, Simone Lelchuk.

How to Receive Support

Columbia encourages you to apply to the Survivors' Settlement Fund if you are a survivor and have not previously settled a case against the University that concerned Hadden, and if you have not retained counsel in anticipation of filing a legal claim. Contact 212-641-0830 or info@haddensettlementfund.com or visit www.haddensettlementfund.com for more information.
