We offer a variety of medical student educational opportunities at both our Columbia University and Weill Cornell medical campuses.
These include a one-month elective rotation and summer research externship. The elective provides students with a unique insight into the functional approach to patient care. Students will receive training on the physiatric evaluation and be exposed to fundamental concepts of the specialty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation through a variety of inpatient and outpatient experiences in the Department of Rehabilitation and Regenerative Medicine.
Teaching on service is a mixture of clinical care (in both inpatient and outpatient settings), lecture based and student-directed learning. Students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of didactic activities including our monthly physical exam workshops and sports medicine journal club.
Additionally, medical students enrolled at Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons can choose to do a one week selective or one month elective as part of their curriculum.
