Dr. Ashwini Rao is awarded the ISP Pilot Award by the Irving Institute

Ashwini Rao, EdD, OTR, FAPTA is awarded the Integrating Special Populations (ISP) Pilot Award from the Irving Institute for Clinical and Translational Research.

The ISP goals are to "foster collaborations both within each special population and across special populations..." such as pediatrics, geriatrics, rare diseases, and HIV. The ISP Pilot Award program provides funding to support the study of diseases across the lifespan and utilization of rare diseases as tools to study more common ones. The grant award $40,000 for a one-time, one-year funding grant. 

Dr. Rao received the ISP Pilot Award for his grant titled "Factors underlying higher energy expenditure and weight loss in Huntington's Disease."


Ashwini Rao, EdD, OTR, FAPTA is an Associate Professor of Rehabilitation and Regenerative Medicine at the University of Columbia Medical Center, Program in Physical Herapy and G.H. Gergievsky Center.
