Bio

David Zhang, MD is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care. He received his medical degree at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Washington University in St. Louis, and a clinical fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care at University of Texas Southwestern. He completed an additional research fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center focusing on basic and translational research in interstitial lung disease (ILD). His current focus is on conducting novel research using next generation sequencing technology on patients with interstitial lung disease, including those with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). He sees patients in the ILD clinic at Columbia University and manages patients with connective tissue disease related ILD, hypersensitivity pneumonitis, IPF, post-COVID fibrosis, among many other conditions.
