Program Overview VIRTUAL CONFERENCE Columbia University Irving Medical Center invites you to join the leading educators from Columbia University, addressing an overview of high yield challenging scenarios in the management of ANCA-Vasculitis. Through a combination of lectures and case-based presentations, this course will deliver up-to-date and cutting-edge information that can be directly integrated into clinical practice. Video Access Following the program, all registrants will be given access to lecture video recordings for one month. Learning Objectives 1. Understand the basis of the pathogenesis and role of B cells of ANCA-Vasculitis. 2. Target the use of induction and maintenance therapy. 3. Discuss pathogenesis, pathology, and immunosuppressive strategies available to health care providers (nephrologists, rheumatologists, clinicians, pathologists, geneticist NP, and PAs). 4. Discuss ongoing clinical trials utilizing novel therapies for ANCA-Vasculitis. 5. Identify kidney biopsies in managing ANCA Vasculitis. 6. Understand Eosinophilic Granulomatous Polyangiitis. 7. Discuss ANCO Overlap Syndromes across all disciplines. The Herbert and Florence Irving Institute for Cancer Dynamics will continue its seminar series on the topic of mathematical sciences underpinning cancer research. The monthly seminars take place on the second Wednesday of the month, 2:00-3:00 PM EST. The presentations are open to the Columbia community (in person and online) and to researchers outside Columbia (via Zoom). She is also affiliated with the EPFL AI Center and EPFL Institute of Bioengineering (IBI). Prior to joining EPFL, Maria was a postdoctoral researcher in Computer Science at Stanford University working with Jure Leskovec and was a member of  the Chan Zuckerberg Biohub at Stanford.  She received her PhD degree from University of Zagreb in 2019, while also researching at Stanford University and University of Tokyo. Her research was awarded with the Fulbright Scholarship, L’Oreal UNESCO for Women in Science Scholarship, Branimir Jernej award for outstanding publication in biology and biomedicine, and Josip Loncar Silver Plaque award for the best doctoral dissertation. She has been named a Rising Star in EECS by MIT in 2021 and she received an Early Career Award by SIB in 2023. Her research is focused on developing new machine learning methods and applying her methods to advance biomedical research. Her contributions to the field have earned her prestigious funding, including the SNSF Starting Grant.
